Blueguard Middle East was established in 2017, and since then we have made a name for ourselves in the region for quality First Aid Training for Schools in the United Arab Emirates. An accident can happen within a split second, and in schools, where teachers and staff members are trusted with the safety of hundreds of children, learning a First Aid Training Course is of ultimate importance if a medical emergency was to take place. Young children and students within schools are more prone to accidents, so having the correct safety measures in place, such as first aid training for teachers and school staff will create a safer environment for all.
Teachers and school staff should be empowered to have a basic understanding of first aid and CPR. Lifesaving skills, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator, will give individuals the confidence to know what to do if an emergency took place.
We have customized our First Aid Training for Schools in the United Arab Emirates, to incorporate factors that are unique to this part of the world, such as the terrain, weather and lifestyle. We review the existing risk assessments that your school has in place and we adjust our first aid training around that, giving you real life scenarios that are unique and can take place in your premises.
Our First Aid Training for Schools course is for Teachers and School Staff. They will learn the following:
Teachers will learn to administer the different techniques for the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on an infant, toddler, child or adult in distress. Teachers will have the confidence to know that they have been approved by The Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS) to assess an incident and deal with external bleeding, hypovolemic shock and minor injuries.
The qualification teachers will receive, upon completing our First Aid Training for Schools course is The Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages.
The duration of this course is 7 hours with a practical assessment and multiple-choice theory assessment. Upon successful completion of the assessment teachers will get a certificate and license within 24 hours from sitting the course. For a blended learning option, teachers can complete the Online Emergency First Aid at Work course that we offer and then attend only a five hour in-person training for Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages.
Upon successful completion of the first aid training for schools course, teachers will receive the certification and license in Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages, valid for three years. It is mandatory to renew this license every three years, however, we advise that teachers refresh their first aid knowledge and skills every year, to remain updated with the global technological advancements and trends.
Typically, in Dubai and the UAE, the school administration and the appointed medical staff or school nurse are responsible for the first aid training that is administered in their school. The Director of the school or Management of the school are responsible for ensuring that the teachers and school staff are first aid trained according to the United Arab Emirates Government mandate.
It is recommended that the more teachers and school staff members are trained on first aid, the higher the chances are of the safety and wellbeing of the children in their care. Can you put a price on a student choking? Would the teacher in charge know what to do? By the time the school nurse is notified, the wait may have been too long for the child.
We advise that every teacher should know First Aid Training and be able to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe and effective use of an automated external defibrillator. This will give teachers and staff members the confidence in themselves to be able to quickly and effectively help if an emergency was to take place.
Schools have higher chances of probability for an accident to take place. With hundreds of children within the premises, there will be numerous occasions where a first aider is needed. There is no mandated standard for the exact number of school staff who should be trained in first aid. It is recommended that a sufficient number of school staff be trained in first aid to ensure a safer environment for students.
If teachers are interested in obtaining a Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid and use of an AED and CPR for all ages certification, then this will need to be approved by The Highfield International Awarding Body For Compliance (HABC). If teachers would like to receive a license and certification to administer First Aid, CPR and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), then this will have to be approved by the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS).
Blueguard Middle East is approved by both Highfield International Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) and the Dubai Corporation of Ambulance (DCAS) to teach emergency first aid training, and upon successful completion of the first aid training for schools course with us, you will receive both the certification and the license which are valid for 3 years.
